A Prague-based improvisational ensemble focused on multimedia work, Stratocluster has released several albums since its founding in 2013: Tamanrasset (Signals from Arkaim, 2013), the cassette Jabka hrušky meotary (Meteorismo, 2015) and the ‘conceptual radio’ CD Éternagy (polí5, 2018). Composer, musician and intermedia artist Ian Mikyska is co-founder of Stratocluster and the Prague Quiet Music Collective. In his art, he produces installations, guided walks, videos, texts and concert pieces, often involving field recordings and other media. His music for a unique six-note harmonium recently appeared on two CDs, and he also helped to organise the exhibition Writing by Walking for Automatic Mills in Pardubice.
Saxophonist, clarinetist, composer and visual artist Marcel Bárta has been active on the Czech jazz and experimental music scene for almost two decades. He can be found on stage with Vertigo, one of the most innovative Czech jazz bands, as well as with his own project Muff. He has collaborated on several performances with the Farm in the Cave dance troupe. He is a teacher at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory.
Violinist Milan Kárník Jakeš is originally from Hodonín. Since completing his studies at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory, he has focused mainly on jazz and experimental and improvised music. He is a member of several ensembles, including Talaqpo, Free Balkan Quintet, Futur Swing and the Prague Quiet Music Collective, and can often be seen on the theatre stage as well (National Theatre, Minor Theatre, Brothers Forman Theatre).
Jakub Švejnar is one of the most sought-after Czech drummers in the field of experimental and improvised music. He performs with bands such as Jungle Debris, Uthando, Kin and Dust in the Groove, but also collaborates with electronic music producer Aid Kid, Austrian artist and musician Daniel Bierdümpfl, theatre director Jana Stárková and many Czech jazz musicians.
