On 1 April, the south tower of Kutná Hora’s Jesuit College, home to the Gallery of the Central Bohemian Region, was open to the public. Visitors are able to climb up to see the St Barbara bells known as Michael, Ludwig and Barbara. The first two bells, which date from the late fifteenth to early sixteenth century, were returned to the tower last October after extensive repairs. Since being fitted back in place, they once again ring out over town along with their younger ‘sister’ Barbara. The south tower also provides a glorious view over Kutná Hora.
