Oh, Poet World, who have for eons savoured
ere you set stars by stars in verses favoured,
ere every sun, with planetary blossom
circled you turned to strophes by your art lissom,
ere from the chaos of your swirling notions
you conjoined suns in lyrical commotion –
ere to the fledgling Earth you bid: “Vitalize!”,
let the first beats into a youthful heart,
opened up human eyes: “Awe recognize!

Jan Neruda, Písně kosmické [Cosmic Songs]
translated by Václav Z. J. Pinkava

Miroslav Nachlinger and Martina Kleinová started working together as students at the Faculty of Art and Design at the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem. Miroslav studied interior design and Martina studied product design. The two disciplines blend together in the work of Studio Revír. In their work, they focus on the genuineness of materials such as wood, metal, glass and porcelain, as well as the combination of these materials and traditional handwork, which they blend with state-of-the-art technology. Their basic inspiration is nature, which is not only reflected in the names of their products, but also in their morphology.

The exhibition presents their collection of mirrors titled Planets. In a minimalist yet cosmic installation, emphasis is placed on individual products’ detailed treatment. Everything is accompanied by reflections of light and sound. The sound of electromagnetic waves and the magnetic fields of individual planets, which have been captured by space probes and reformatted to sound wavelengths.
