Alessandro Bosetti is a composer and sound artist with a specific interest in the musicality of spoken language and also in voice as understood as an autonomous sound entity. He creates surprising dispositions, often related to the radiophonic medium, and is engaged in a constant questioning of aesthetic values, categories and listening attitudes. His recent works include the voice archive Plane/Talea, the radio performances Je ne suis pas là pour parler (2019) and Consensu Partium (2020), the compositional cycle Pièces à pédales (2021), and the music theatre works Journal de Bord and Portraits des Voix with Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart (2018 and 2021).
Bosetti’s music is regularly performed at festivals such as Festival d’Automne in Paris, Festival Eclat in Stuttgart, GRM’s Présences Electroniques in Paris, Liquid Architecture in Melbourne, the San Francisco Electronic Music Festival, the Musica Festival in Strasbourg and the Ruido Festival in Buenos Aires. He has recorded with various labels such as Errant Bodies Press, Holidays Records, Rossbin, Sedimental, Unsounds and Monotype, which dedicated a retrospective box set (4 CDs) to his work in 2016.
