Barrier-free building
Jesuit College
The building is barrier-free, with the exception of the North Tower and the Conference Room in the attic of the South Tower. Barrier-free entrances to the building are from Smíškova Street and from the courtyard of the Jesuit College. By the courtyard entrance, there is a bell for wheelchair users, which can be used to summon staff to help open the other half of the door.
All of the floors are accessible via barrier-free lifts in both wings of the building. Accessible toilets are located throughout the building. Visitors may borrow a wheelchair from the cloakroom in the Jesuit College.
Cloakroom
Located in the Jesuit College. Backpacks, umbrellas, large coats and jackets and any bags larger than 40 × 30 × 20 cm must be left in the cloakroom. Lockers are available in two sizes. To lock the lockers, you will need a CZK 10 coin, or you can borrow a token from the ticket office.
You can also borrow a pushchair or a wheelchair here free of charge.
Ticket office and GASK SHOP
The ticket office and gallery shop are located on the ground floor of the Jesuit College. Depending on which entrance you use to enter the building, it is reached in one of the following ways:
- Entry from Smíškova Street (‘by the sphere’) – Walk down the entire corridor. The ticket office and shop are the last door on the left, before the stairs.
- Entry from the courtyard (by the café) – After entering the building, turn left. Near the end of the corridor, you will find the lift to your right. Take the lift down to the ground floor (press ‘0’). From the lift, turn right and then left into the main corridor. The ticket office and shop are the first door on the right, after the stairs. We recommend that wheelchair users only choose this option if accompanied by someone else, as there is gravel on the ground outside the building.
- Entry from Barborská Street – This entrance is not barrier-free (two small steps). Turn right at the corner. The ticket office and shop are the first door on the right, after the stairs.
Besides selling tickets, the ticket office and GASK shop also offer GASK publications and other high-quality books for both children and adults, as well as designer clothing, jewellery and the like, souvenirs, postcards and more.
Café GASK
Located on the first floor of the southern wing. The café is open to the public during the gallery’s opening hours.
You can access the café via any of the entrances to the Jesuit College – from the courtyard, we recommend that wheelchair users enter with an accompanying person, as the ground is covered in gravel.
Opening hours (Tuesday to Sunday): 10am – 6pm.
Bistro Skleník
Located in the GASK Gardens. The bistro can be accessed via the garden entrance on Kremnická Street (from the gate, turn left). From the courtyard of the Jesuit College, you can reach the bistro by crossing the GASK Gardens. The bistro is located in the upper part of the gardens by the water stage.
Opening hours (Tuesday to Sunday): 10am – 6pm.
