Filip Černý – OFFLINE_CUT

OFFLINE_CUT is an exhibition that explores the search for a painterly path, addressing the need to return to the physical essence of the image. At a time when the visual world is increasingly dissolving into digital space—amidst generated sketches and the seductive smoothness of screens—Filip Černý adopts a counter-stance: a return to matter, to the cut, to the tension created by the resistance of unyielding material, and to craftsmanship and direct physical contact. The exhibition’s title—a term denoting a rough film edit devoid of effects—refers not only to cinematic jargon but also to a radical gesture: the interruption of the endless virtual illusion, and the moment when the image becomes simultaneously an imaginative and a material reality, here and now.
