Seating in the GASK gardens with a view and great atmosphere
The Skleník bistro in the gardens of the Gallery of the Central Bohemian Region (GASK) is a popular place for anyone looking to enjoy great coffee, light refreshments and the quiet atmosphere of historical gardens in the centre of Kutná Hora.
You will find the bistro just a few steps from the gallery’s main entrance. Skleník is the ideal place to take a break after seeing an exhibition, to meet friends or for a spontaneous stop during a walking tour of the city.
What do we offer?
- choice coffee from a local roastery
- homemade sandwiches, pastries and snacks
- fresh lemonades, wine and non-alcoholic drinks
- seasonal products depending on current availability
We regularly change our menu with an eye on simplicity, freshness and local ingredients.
The modern bistro, designed by Kodet architekti, combines indoor seating with an outdoor terrace with room for up to forty people. The terrace is situated in such a manner as to offer an outstanding view of St Barbara’s Cathedral. With its wood-frame structure and large glass windows, the bistro’s architecture sensitively fits in with the overall character of the gallery’s gardens. It also inspired its name, Skleník, which translates as ‘greenhouse/glasshouse’.
The architects behind Skleník are Monika Šobrová, Jiří Šobr and Michael Soukup – the team responsible for Kutná Hora’s successful Turistka café, which was recommended in two books by Lukáš Hejlík, a 2024 book on cafés and Amazing magazine. The bistro features modern food and beverage choices such as fresh juices, kombucha, prosecco, beer and select teas and coffees. It also hosts cultural events, concerts and yoga lessons.
Opening hours:
Mon–Sun: 10am – 6pm
(depending on the weather, opening hours may be extended in the summer months)
Come and relax, try good food and enjoy the charm of the GASK gardens. The Skleník bistro looks forward to your visit anytime during the day, with outdoor music during summertime.
